Traceability before publication
Before a real product is published for sale, its listing must include verified identification, manufacturer contact information, the EU responsible person where required and applicable safety warnings under the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988.
Additional requirements
Electrical, aquarium and reptile equipment may be subject to additional legislation. Product-specific checks and supporting documentation must be completed; a demo listing or editorial photograph is not evidence of compliance.
Safe use
Follow verified manufacturer instructions, intended species and size guidance. Inspect products regularly and stop using damaged or potentially unsafe items. Seek veterinary advice for health concerns.
